Be careful what you wish for

Its weird how things you want are somethings handed over to you? Isnt it?

I was out at a client yesterday, who have a habit of giving a very heavy lunch to us. Sometimes its Pizza Hut, sometimes its KFC and sometimes McDonalds. I had to go to a dinner that night, and was thinking of how to convince them to give me a light lunch….

Turns out, i didnt have to! They got a situation from their client and the whole company was put in firefighting mode for the rest of the day. Result, they completely forgot i was even there, and hence, forgot to order me any lunch! I survived that day on two polo’s.

Maybe thats why elders keep telling us, be careful what you wish for… you just might get it!

Devine Intervention?

Sometimes, when you want something really bad, God creates ways and means for you to achieve it. Sometimes, its you who is favoured, sometimes its you who’s been made the conduit for his blessings.

Couple of days ago, i came back home from office, very tired, yet having a commitment to fulfill later in the evening. So i thought i’d kick back and rest for a while.. just 10 minutes, then start to get ready. However, once i slept, i didnt wake up for two hours!! I opened my eyes and thought “damn! ab kya karoon?!” just then, my friend walks in the room, looking for me. Turns out, he wants to get my help on a project which he had to submit the next day, and i couldnt help wonder if maybe that was the reason i wasnt at my nani’s (the commitment) yet..? I went with him to my nani’s, delivered the stuff i had to, came back and started to work on his project. Finished it up at 2 AM, but it was worth it.

Next morning, i had a meeting for which i was running late by the time i woke up, and frantically tried to get washed up to leave. Thats when i got the call from the client, that the meeting would have to be postponed for a couple of hours. That was good news, and my frantic efforts to get ready slowed down considerably. I had breakfast in peace and went down to the car. When i started it, i thought since i have time, lets tweak with the settings a bit… now usually, i just start and leave immediately, warming up the car on the way, but this time, i took about 5 minutes tweaking. And just as i open the door to my car to leave, in walks this friend again, who was getting late for delivering the same project, and was wondering who’d be his ride!

Twice in a span of twenty four hours!! Coincidences? or devine intervention?

Makes you think.. doesnt it?

Of Good byes…

I hate saying goodbyes! It just has a very ominious tone to it! As if asserting a finality which, with some people, you just dont want!!

Yesterday, my cousin flew off to Sharjah with her hubby and two children. The scene at the airport was bad! Tear flowing, non-breaking hugs, words of comfort were all mixed in the general pandemonium of getting luggage together, gathering the kids, and making sure no one is left out from a bye bye kiss.

I hate goodbyes….

See you later aapi!! Have a safe trip!

complete

Never ever thought it would be possible,

but when you mix pink, purple, cheese, chicken and fulfilled promises…

life.. somehow.. seems complete!
