movie review: the departed

The Departed

This movie, i was forced into buying by a friend who just couldnt stop praising it. This coming from a guy who has a 300+ movie collection! And boy was i glad i did. Again, this movie is not for the faint hearted! Blood and gore runs amok! Till the very end it keeps you on edge, like you’re sitting on a roller coaster. The plot has so many twists and turns.

The story revolves around the FBI trying to bring down a mob boss. This particular mob boss, however, has a mole inside the FBI who tips him off and therefore he doesn’t get caught. So the FBI places its own mole inside the mob boss’s organization. The problem starts when both the FBI and the mob boss discover that they have moles and try to flush them out.

Leonardo di caprio, again gives a full thumbs up performance, pulling off the role without a hitch.

    While it wasn’t exactly a “rollercoaster” ride, the movie was great! You could see why it got the Oscar.

    @Dee
    He didn’t give nothing away. That much is covered in every synopsis.

    The real Mob gangster whose character was impersonated by Mr. Nicholsan is still out there in Boston. I saw his pic in Yahoo news and i must say despite being skinny they quite look alike.

    and yes when Ireland was beating a shit out of Pakisatni team I was singing the theme song of the movie:

    ‘ Im shipping off to Boston……….yeh yeh ‘ :D

    Okay, i watched it last night.My God i never heard that much swearing before within the span of two hours or so .LOL.Movie was good but i wont compare it with God Father and other classic Italian mafia flicks.
    Okay now to the point , what the hell happened to the yellow envelope , Leo gave to Dr.? and who is that dude who shot Leo? and why at the end Matt was shot by that police officer?

    maz and ammar: welcome 2 my blog dudes! thanks for leaving comments

    dee: yayy!! there was too much swearing in it :D but it gives credibility to the livestyles of the mob. to the point.. the yellow envilope is still a mystery to me.. so no explanation about that, leo was shot by this other guy in the FBI, who briefly came on in the beginning. the guy was also on the mob boss’s payroll. Matt was shot by the police officer because there was nothing else he could do :p the ‘official’ way would’ve taken too long, plus he wanted to take revenge for his cap’n i think.
